We have two of Kirklees Hog Roasters which we have had for several years. The roasters are used on a very regular basis, sometimes every week, and occasionally we have had spare parts from the factory… I have no hesitation in recommending the turning spit type of roaster as made by Kirklees, it gives a beautiful finished carcass which is self basted and moist. I have my own way of finishing the crackling which is very much liked by the customer… I have used the other type of pig oven where the meat just lies in the oven and doesn’t turn and find that this type makes the meat dry and in some cases burns the outside of the meat and is hard to control…
